Dr. Armin Berger is a Senior Scientist and Senior Lecturer at the Department of English and American Studies at the University of Vienna and academic coordinator of the English Language Competence programme. Participants will be able to: identify key differences between B1 and B2 speaking performance, particularly in fluency, interaction, range and accuracy. analyse learner output with regard to B1/B2 descriptors and assessment criteria. design speaking tasks that support learners in moving from B1 towards B2. develop practical classroom strategies for improving fluency, interaction and linguistic range. refine their assessment practices and strengthen their language assessment literacy. explore ways in which AI can support speaking practice, reflection and learner confidence.
